I always enjoy reading bloggers' responses to surveys such as this!

Happily, I would have a great many of the same responses to those questions! Also, it just so happens my beloved and I had hot chocolate just this evening!!

    Thanks for the smiles!

    Peace and love, always...

Over 70% of the now over 2000 women we serve have a dual diagnosis.  Some years back I wrote a grant for COPSD services...Coexisting psychiatric and substance dependency diagnosis.  I get about $700,000 a year to hire therapists to provide individual therapy for up to two years for our women.  They receive medication as a part of this,  Before we had this grant to assist these women over 50% ofthem relpased.  Now 25% relapse within the first year.  We have another grant from the state that gives women with children 90 days of intensive residential treatment for substance abuse.  I then have a criminal justice grant that gives women leaving prison 6 months of residential care.  I then have anothr outpatient grant for 300 slots in 3 locations.  We provide both substance abuse treatment but also COPSD for outpatients and the women from the criminal justice system.  We have been very fortunate in that we get about 6 million a year in grants.  I just noticed that Fema put out an RFP yesterday for women and children substance abusers.  The goal is to prevent homelessness and provide psyc and cd services and find permanent housing forthem.  I will find the RFP stuff on it and send it to you.

    Mashed potatoes and Gravy! Yummmm!

When I was a kid, I used to make  a volcano in the pile of mashed potatoes, and then ladle the gravy into until it spilled over the top and ran down the sides like molten lava.

    I still do that.
